Making Mom's Health A Priority-A Keeper Of The Home Guest Post

I'm writing at Keeper Of the Home Today (woo woo!) about finding time to take care of yourself amidst the business of motherhood!  Come, read my musings, and please..share your thoughts!

Making Mom's Health A Priority

An excerpt:
When my children wake up in the morning, I sometimes chuckle to myself as I’m reminded of some old horse races I used to watch as a child.  The whistle blows, the announcer proclaims, “And she’s OFF!”, and the remainder of the race is spent simply trying to keep up with what’s going on, and preparing for what’s to come around the next bend.  While doing my best to nourish precious little bodies, minds, and spirits each day, there are occasions when I can’t help but feel like I’m in a race of my own: a race to check off my to-do’s and compile my will-do’s before the day ends.  Click here to read the rest!

I loved this post! Occasionally, I have gotten up early and really enjoyed the quiet time. Most days I'm too tired to get up that early, but in all honesty, I would probably feel less tired and more refreshed if I got some me time before the little ones are up. I really like the spa idea, too. I definitely don't spend the time I used to on my hair, skin and nails...and soaking in a bath...can't remember the last time, but now I'm thinking, "Calgon, take me away"...lol. It is important to remember health is more than physical...that it is mind, body and spirit. Your visual example of goals and schedule was very helpful. I recently did up a daily schedule, too, and with the kids I can get exercise and spiritual growth time. We have worship singing and dancing and morning prayer and daily bible verse memorization. It's great, but I still need that "me" time. I will be one to check your progress and hold you accountable, as you say. Help me, too, please :) Thanks for another great post, Leah!
