Choosing His Way
Last night we celebrated Ava's 2nd birthday! We had a wonderful evening with family and Ava was thrilled to be the center of attention :) My Aunt Ann and I made some delicious homemade pizza with this fabulous recipe for pizza crust and Ava went back and forth between sprinkling cheese on the pizza, and grabbing handfuls off to eat. Before any of you start to think I am tooting my own horn, I will share the following tidbit with you: earlier in the day I had decided to paint my living room (which happened to take much longer than I expected, of course) so when (the kids) Aunt Lorrie arrived and asked if she could help do something, I told her yes, she could get started making Ava's birthday cake. LOL. Thankfully though, everything worked out and by the end of the evening we had some warm, tasty honey cake that was oh so good! My wonderful aunt and sister-in-law also washed my dishes before they left, which was so very much appreciated!! Ava loved all of her gifts, including clothing and a rocking horse, but her favorite was her special blanket that had been "lost" at grandma's house for the past few weeks. My grandma cleverly re-gifted it for her and she was so smitten by it that she immediately wrapped herself all up and began dancing around the house! It was truly a site to behold.
I have been just soaking in this nice weather today, and plan to soon start to get ready for tomorrow when we will be having my siblings and some other friends over for my first ever (largish) holiday get-together. I am excited to be able to have this opportunity to serve and bless others. I've always enjoyed having people over but have found it difficult to pull off with the kids and other responsibilities. And though I've told you of how things didn't quite line up as neatly as I had planned yesterday, God's grace and mercy carried me through..along with a few helping hands! I am choosing in this new season to not succumb to the oppression of being "stuck" at home with "no time" for anything. I am realizing more and more each day that there is enough time to do all the things that God wants us to do (those things He's placed in our hearts) if we only choose to do things His way. It's when we start to try to take on things that He never called us to that things can get messy. Or when we stop moving forward and start to feel sorry for ourselves. Those pity parties we have sure can suck a lot of time from our days! Time that we could instead be worshipping: being built up in our most holy faith (Jude 1:20) and being equipped to actually fulfill our destinies rather than neglect them. Be encouraged today that God loves you SO much and that ALL things are possible for us because of this!
I want to share with you the lyrics of a beautiful acoustic song called No Limit by Karla Adolphe. I would highly recommend Karla's album- Enter The Worship Circle: Chair and Microphone Vol. 3. Click this link to sample the albums songs. It is very raw and moving in a feel good kind of way. This is good music for anytime (I played it at least 4 times in a row while painting the livingroom!) and in my experience has the rare quality of being what you need it to be: uplifting, convicting, motivating, or encouraging, to name a few!
No Limit
Your love has no limit at all (x3)
It has no limit at all
You don't crush me with a heavy hand
You don't leave me alone in this world
In this world
Your love has no limit at all (x3)
It has no limit at all
And you know how I was formed
When the wind blows I'll be gone
Like a flower after winters storm
Your love has no limit at all (x3)
It has no limit at all
On another note, I will be attempting to blog at least every Saturday, and possibly one day in between as my schedule permits, so please keep checking in! There will definitely be some changes coming about, but we'll save this for another post as God leads and directs me in the details. Hoping you all have a meaningful Easter celebration and that you cherish and share Christ's love with your family members and friends. Now I have to go peel about 8 pounds of potatoes. With joy even!
